Turning an Underperforming Marketing Program into a Scalable Growth Engine

Commerce Sync is a SaaS platform that automates the transfer of sales data from point-of-sale systems into accounting software. Their mission was clear: save small business owners time and reduce manual data entry. But when I began leading marketing, the company’s growth efforts weren’t keeping pace with its potential.

Their digital acquisition program was essentially non-existent. They were spending heavily with an agency that delivered no conversions, their website was outdated and unappealing to SMBs, and there were no case studies or foundational assets to build credibility. The only meaningful pipeline came through under-leveraged partnerships with platforms like Square, Clover, and Intuit.

I overhauled the company’s marketing from the ground up. That started with reframing the messaging and positioning to speak directly to SMBs, and building a new website that reflected their value. I also built and managed a cross-functional team that included digital, content, graphics, and contractors to accelerate execution. With that foundation in place, I launched new multi-channel acquisition programs, optimized landing pages, created blog content, and expanded the reach and impact of partner marketing.

Highlights:

  • 40% increase in new SMB customers within 8 months (a completely new growth channel)

  • 6x increase in landing page conversions through continuous optimization

  • Built a scalable, in-house marketing foundation

  • Strengthened partner-driven lead generation with Square, Clover, and Intuit
